The tour begins with St. Peters Castle visit which is the symbol of Bodrum. Today the castle’s rooms are used as a museum where finds from the Bronze Age, Mycenaean, Archaic, and Classical, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods are exhibited. The castle also houses the largest underwater archeological museum in Turkey and one of the few of its kind in the world. The reconstruction of a ship-wreck itself is worth a visit.
Your trip will continue towards Mausoleum at Halicarnassus or the tomb of Mausolus. You will see the ruins the one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Mausoleum, King Mausolus’ tomb, is at the origin of the funerary monuments of great dimensions and sumptuous architecture. Mausolus was the ruler of the Caria Kingdom between 377 and 353 BC; he made Halikarnassos its capital.
You will end the tour with ancient Amphitheatre visit, it is one of the best preserved structures of ancient Halikarnassus. Although it is one of the oldest stone theaters in the ancient world, is still used for concerts and a part of Semptember Festival. Theatre situated on the hillside overlooking the resort and offers the classic picture postcard views over the Bodrum Castle and harbor.
